Father's Day Tailgate Party
Our first annual Father's Day Tailgate Party was a success! Co-Hosted by Kona Dads, Hawaii Action Academy, and Aloha Bounce Co., over 40 families participated in a ninja obstacle course, Portuguese Horseshoe tournament, fitness testing with trainers Wanda and Mary, barbequing and prize giveaway. They bounced, swung, leapt, dove, surfed and climbed through a fun afternoon, with the Grand Prize winner of a new gas barbeque going to father of two, Nick Posey provided by the Fatherhood Initiative. We decided to put this event together to follow up with our annual Mother's Day Makeover Giveaway which we have hosted for the past three years, and which has been quite the hit with the moms in our community. We thought it would be fun to host a more casual father's day event as well, to compliment the fact that we now have a coed facility where dads can get in shape too.
