Fitness Freedom Month is Here!

Happy July 1st!! This month always means freedom to me.

Independence Day kicks off early and it's hard not to appreciate our freedom of choice this time of year.

Plus, this July 1st in particular is not only the beginning of a new month, but also the beginning of the week, quarter and second half of the year! What a great time to start or re-start your fitness routine.

We always go back to getting in our fitness because when you have a healthy body, it means you get to do more in life. When we move regularly we strengthen the body, make it more flexible, recover quicker from illness and injury and just feel better due to the hormone regulation that comes with exercise.

Is your routine what you'd like it to be? Would you like to improve in any areas? This is a great time to think about that as we head into the second half of the year so you can has as much body freedom as possible by putting forth just a little bit of effort in the right areas.

We also wanted to share a few tips to keep you safe as the temperature rises. It's been crazy hot in a few of our states, but that doesn't mean you have to suffer through your workouts. In fact, if you overhead it can lead to dangerous conditions like heat exhaustion, heat stroke, or dehydration. So what can you do to avoid these conditions?

Workout early or later in the day when the sun isn't beating down as intensely. Wear cool clothing, put a wet towel on the back of your neck, hydrate regularly and if it's still too hot to trot, get a cheap gym membership in a air conditioned facility and enjoy some cross training on the hottest days.

You can also participate in water sports, but just remember you can still get dehydrated on the water, and the sun can be intense so apply and re-apply sun screen, and wear sun protective clothing, hats and glasses too!

If you have air conditioning at your home and want to workout with us in July we're on the second leg of our Fit Summer Road Trip with workouts each week that will keep those muscles primed and ready for anything.

Each of these routines that are part of our Annual Workout Calendar use minimal equipment and can be done anywhere, including in small spaces. The workouts are all different so follow along with us as we move together through the year, or pick a favorite routine and repeat it whenever you need a workout!

For the rest of the Fit Summer Road Trip, we're traveling a 5k per day, that's 3.1 miles of cardio every day of July. That can be running, walking, cycling, rowing, swimming, paddling, or the equivalent!
For the month of July we have also opened up our calendars for those needing a little jump start for fitness. If you've been wanting to get into a routine but don't know what to do, or want to make sure you're exercising safely let us know!

Space is limited on our schedules still, but we have enough hours open in the July to get the 3 sessions of a Starter Pack in for you before the summer is over and school starts back up.

You can schedule a meeting to see if this opportunity is right for you! https://TrunkTrainers.as.me/MeetwithKelsie

Have a great July everyone and we'll see you very soon!
